In writing or improv comedy, the term “rule of three” refers to a pattern of three—be it action, punchlines, whatever—that is meant to increase the effectiveness of the material with a “payoff.” A classic example would be the three house-demolishing efforts of the Big Bad Wolf in The Three Little Pigs.
False flag storytelling also tends to have its own built-in rule of three. It works differently, though, because they hope you never make it to the house made of brick.
For 9/11, you have the “official” story that consists of 19 hijackers with boxcutters that fooled two major airlines, NORAD and the entire intelligence community before flying passenger jets for the first time at low-altitude, high speeds, with wide banking maneuvers into buildings. They knew millions would buy what they were selling, but they also anticipated a lot of people asking questions. “Truth movements” popped up on the burgeoning World Wide Web and they were quickly infiltrated (if they weren’t compromised from the start). Internet forum writers and early content creators would bombard the truth community with confusing information. The search for evidence would oftentimes get replaced with theories backed by little to none of that. Most people who denied the official story of 9/11 got stuck together in this second group—the middle house if you will—unable to see the truth that lies in the third.
As for COVID, they started off with a zoonotic jump possibly originating from a wet market in China. They knew this story would be scrutinized, but they didn’t want the lab leak theory to become too popular too soon. They were able to use mainstream media to buy them a good two years before the lab leak theory had legs. But again, it’s the middle house.
